Ah, heck.

If you haven’t read the previous post, please do, as it is much more important than this one… this one is just me, letting you know …

We are now a one-cat family.  Seventeen years ago, when we adopted the three litter mates from a woman who had saved them from boys taking them to the river to drown, they were too young to be away from their real mom.  The littlest one had lost her tail and was so scrawny and weak that we didn’t think she would even live through the night.  And now, she is our last one left.  Jellylorum left me this morning, to play with her brother Rufus, in the big green grassy field of heaven.  And, yes, once again, I had to hold my baby as the light went out of her eyes.

Ah, heck.  As I have said before, losing is a part of loving is a part of losing.  And we wouldn’t do without the loving, so we can’t do without the losing.  But it hurts.

  1. So sorry to hear Jelly is gone. I pray she will find Rufus and snooze away with him on the fireplace.

Remember the love, it heals the pain.

You understand but understanding doesn’t ease the pain.
